Strictly speaking, this day should include the dancing, desert and getting home from the wedding last night, but I'll start when we woke up. There was a brunch planned at Villa Passerini, but when we got there there were not terribly many people there, and unfortunately Sylvie and Pierre were just leaving. We had a few pastries but then decided to head away earlier to enjoy our remaining time with Alastair and Sophie.
On Pierre's recommendation, we drove out to have lunch at Avignonesi Winery. The lunch menu was €120 each, so we gave that a miss and instead shared two delicious platters.

Arriving back in Cortona we stopped for a nice coffee in the square. Karen and I went to a very interesting exhibition of Italian Futurists at the theatre.

Alastair, Sophie and Bella found an interesting design studio further up the hill. LandK Design do very finely detailed drawings of places they have visited - mostly in Italy but including a lovely one of Arrowtown where, amazingly, they spend three months a year at the invitation of Arrowtown Council.

By now it was near 5pm, and with all of us leaving in the morning, we raced back to our accommodation for a very quick dip in the pool before Iris and Ben arrived for a farewell.
There had been plans for a family dinner at Montanare, but Suzy and Tim thought that it might be nice if their families had their own dinner at the agriturismo, leaving the big French family to Montanare. It worked out well, although it meant we didn't get to see tIris' parents Sylvie and Pierre before we left.
Dinner was pizzas collected by Suzy's friends Anna and James. It was lovely getting to know them. Moderately early to bed, with travelling for us all in the morning.
